FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Authorities in Cyprus seized more than 4,000 suspected counterfeit products during an operation targeting the illegal trafficking of goods that violate intellectual property rights.
Police and customs officers searched three premises in the Paphos district, identifying and confiscating approximately 4,140 items believed to be fake. The majority of the seized goods were clothing, while 370 sachets of nicotine were also confiscated from one of the locations.
The crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to combat the sale of counterfeit goods, a persistent issue in Cyprus.
According to reports, fake products—ranging from clothing and accessories to electronics—are frequently found in local markets, posing risks to consumers and legitimate businesses.
Authorities continue to monitor and take action against counterfeit trade, which undermines intellectual property protections and fuels illicit economic activity
