NICOSIA – Managing hepatitis is a top priority for the Health Ministry, Minister Michalis Damianos said during remarks at a scientific conference marking World Hepatitis Day.
Damianos announced that the Cabinet has approved the reconstitution of the National Committee for the management of all viral forms of hepatitis.
He said the goal is to eliminate hepatitis as a public health threat by 2030, in line with targets set by the World Health Organization.
He also said a second physician will be selected for training in hepatology at the University Hospital of Tübingen in Germany.
