FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) will resume its nationwide rollout of smart electricity meters on August 1, as part of a broader initiative to modernize the island’s energy infrastructure and enhance consumption management.
In a statement, the EAC said each installation will require a brief power outage for safety reasons, lasting no more than 20 minutes per household.
The authority apologized in advance for any inconvenience caused and emphasized the long-term benefits of the upgrade, including improved billing accuracy and real-time energy monitoring.
