FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE -— Cyprus recorded a significant increase in trade activity in March 2025, with total imports rising 23.3 percent year-on-year to €1.021,2 million, according to official data.
Imports from European Union member states reached €586,0 million, while imports from third countries rose to €435,2 million. The month also saw €53,7 million in vessel transfers, up from €9,5 million in March 2024.
Exports surged 55.5 percent to €409,0 million, with €102,8 million going to EU countries and €306,2 million to third countries. Vessel transfers accounted for €35,8 million of total exports.
For the January-March 2025 period, imports totaled €3.190,5 million, marking a 24.7 percent increase from the same period in 2024, while exports reached €1.344,1 million, up 58.3 percent. The trade deficit stood at €1.846,4 million, compared to €1.709,7 million in the first quarter of 2024.
