FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE- Total motor vehicle registrations in Cyprus fell 8.3 percent in the first four months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, according to new government data.
In April alone, registrations dropped 18.6 percent year-on-year to 3,877 vehicles, driven by a 20.2 percent decline in passenger saloon cars.
Among notable trends, electric and hybrid vehicles gained market share, while petrol and diesel-powered cars saw declines. Rental car registrations rose 10.9 percent.
Motor coaches, buses, and goods conveyance vehicles also recorded decreases, though mechanized cycles over 50cc saw a 24.7 percent increase.
