FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – A seasonal low-pressure system and warm air mass are affecting the area, bringing clear skies and extreme heat.
After local fog dissipates this morning, conditions will be mostly sunny.
Winds will shift from light southeasterly breezes to light to moderate southwesterly and northwesterly flows, at 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale.
Seas are expected to be slightly choppy. Temperatures will peak at 43°C inland, 36°C along eastern, southern, and northern coasts, and 33°C in western coastal areas and mountainous regions.
Tonight will remain mostly clear, with patches of fog or low cloud expected. Winds will be light from the northwest to northeast, around 3 Beaufort, and seas calm to slightly choppy. Overnight temperatures will drop to 27°C inland, 25°C along the coasts, and 24°C in mountainous areas.
Clear skies will persist through Wednesday, though temperatures are forecast to gradually decline, returning to seasonal norms.
