Cyprus weather: Temperatures are expected to soar to 113°F (45°C) inland

WEDNESDAY’S WEATHER: Today’s weather will be mostly clear and exceptionally hot, with occasional patches of mid-level cloud cover.

Winds will be light to moderate, blowing primarily from the southwest to northwest at 3 to 4 Beaufort. In some areas early in the day, winds will shift from the northeast to southeast at around 3 Beaufort. Seas will be calm to slightly choppy, with localized slight turbulence along the western coast.

Temperatures are expected to soar to 113°F (45°C) inland, 100°F (38°C) along the eastern and southern coasts, and 97°F (36°C) along the western and northern coasts as well as in higher elevations.

Tonight, skies will remain mostly clear. Winds will continue from the southwest to northwest at 3 Beaufort, locally reaching up to 4 Beaufort. Seas will stay calm to slightly choppy, with some localized disturbance in the west. Overnight lows will drop to 81°F (27°C) inland and along the coast, and 77°F (25°C) in the mountains.

On Thursday, conditions will remain mostly clear and very hot. Friday, marking the Feast of the Assumption, will also be mostly sunny. Saturday will bring continued clear skies, though periods of increased cloud cover are expected in some areas.

Temperatures on Thursday will remain significantly above seasonal averages. A slight drop is forecast for Friday, especially inland and in mountainous regions, though readings will still exceed climatological norms. By Saturday, temperatures will fall further, approaching average seasonal levels.
