FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – A wildfire is burning near the village of Tsada in the Paphos district, fueled by strong winds and dry conditions, authorities said Sunday.
Ground and aerial firefighting units have been deployed to contain the blaze, which has grown in size since it was first reported around 3 p.m.
Police have closed several roads due to the fire, including:
- The Polis Chrysochous–Paphos road near Stroumpi, in the Lemonaris area
- The main road from Mesogi to Tsada
Officers are on site directing traffic and assisting with evacuations where necessary.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and will be investigated after it is fully extinguished, officials said.
