FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE — The death toll from U.S. airstrikes on the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah late Tuesday night has climbed to 14, with 15 others injured, according to Houthi-controlled health authorities.
Most of the victims were women and children, with the toll rising as severely injured individuals succumbed in the hospital.
The strikes targeted homes in the Amin Muqbil residential neighborhood, local residents and health officials reported.
Video footage shared on social media captured the aftermath of the tragedy.
These airstrikes were part of a larger campaign of 50 U.S. strikes across northern Yemen, including Sanaa and the provinces of Amran, Dhamar, and Ibb, as reported by Houthi-run al-Masirah TV.
Residents noted that telephone network facilities in Amran and Ibb were among the targets.
The attacks mark the latest escalation since March 15, when the U.S. resumed airstrikes aimed at deterring Houthi threats against Israel following the collapse of the Gaza ceasefire agreement. ■
