A dust plume from North Africa continues to affect Cyprus on Saturday, despite a gradual decline in concentrations since the morning.
At 9 a.m., dust levels ranged between 150 and 356 micrograms per cubic meter of air.
Meteorological Service officer Andreas Chrysanthou told CyBC that rainfall expected after midday should help significantly reduce dust levels and improve conditions by evening.
For now, vulnerable groups are advised to avoid unnecessary outdoor activity until the dust subsides.
