The Egyptian Red Crescent has dispatched its 100th “Zad al‑Izza” aid convoy to Gaza, marking 150 consecutive days of relief operations since the initiative began on July 27.

Amal Imam, executive director of the Egyptian Red Crescent, said the convoys form part of Egypt’s ongoing humanitarian support for Palestinians, which began at the outbreak of the Gaza crisis in October 2023 and continued through the humanitarian pause that summer.

She said the milestone reflects the organization’s continued commitment to assisting civilians in the enclave.

According to Imam, the convoys have delivered more than 234,000 tons of humanitarian supplies, including over 7.8 million food baskets, 1.2 million sacks of flour, 1.16 million cans of infant formula, more than 1,400 tons of medical supplies, 1.9 million hygiene kits and more than 18.2 million liters of fuel.

With winter conditions worsening in Gaza, the Red Crescent has intensified shipments of cold‑weather aid, sending 1.1 million blankets, more than 37,000 mattresses, 9.7 million winter clothing items, 800 mobile bathrooms and more than 186,000 tents.

Imam said total Egyptian assistance to Gaza since October 2023 has exceeded 780,000 tons.

The organization’s humanitarian kitchen in Sheikh Zuweid has also prepared more than 700,000 dry meals, over 500,000 hot meals and more than 2 million loaves of bread as part of the “Luqma Haniya min Masr ila Ghazza” initiative.

She reaffirmed that the Egyptian Red Crescent will continue coordinating with national authorities and international organizations to ensure the steady flow of humanitarian aid and help ease the suffering of Gaza’s residents.
