Egypt’s annual urban inflation eased to 12.3% in November from 12.5% in October, the central bank said Thursday, reflecting lower price pressures, particularly in food.
Food inflation dropped to 0.7% from 1.5% the previous month, while non‑food inflation edged down to 20.2% from 20.4%.
Core inflation slowed to 0.8% on a monthly basis, compared with 2% in October, though it rose year‑on‑year to 12.5%.
Monthly urban inflation fell to 0.3% in November from 1.8% in October, driven by declines in fresh vegetables, fruit and staple foods.
