Syria’s acting President Ahmed al-Sharaa says it could take up to five years to hold elections in Syria, two months after he seized power at the head of an uprising.
al-Sharaa says it will take time to establish the necessary infrastructure to hold elections.
He also said that there will be a law to regulate parties, and that Syria will become a republic with a national assembly and an executive government.
