FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – The European Commission will send experts to Cyprus to provide technical assistance for upgrading aging electricity and water networks, the Haravgi newspaper reported Tuesday.
The support is part of the EU’s technical support mechanism, which includes 150 projects across member states.
Cyprus will benefit from 14 projects, six of which focus on reform initiatives.
These include developing an island-wide spatial plan, creating a green and smart electricity distribution system, reducing water loss, and complying with the EU drinking water directive.
The European Commission emphasized that the assistance will not involve financing but technical expertise to address these challenges.
