FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – The European Commission has downgraded its growth forecast for the EU economy to 1.1 percent in 2025 and 1.5 percent in 2026, citing higher U.S. tariffs and global trade uncertainties, according to its Spring 2025 Economic Forecast published Monday.
The revised projections mark a sharp decline from the Commission’s previous estimates in November, when it predicted the EU economy would expand by 1.5 percent in 2025 and 1.8 percent in 2026.
