Bardarbunga is an active volcano located beneath the enormous Vatnajökull glacier in southeast Iceland.
The Icelandic Meteorological Institute states that the danger warning for flights over the area has been changed from green to yellow.
The institute also emphasizes that since the volcano is located so far off the beaten track, there is no danger to the country’s infrastructure.
Last year there were at least seven volcanic eruptions in Iceland.
