European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen’s plane has been hit by Russian interference with its GPS signal, the Financial Times reports.
According to the newspaper, the plane had to land with paper maps, following the disruption that occurred when the plane was about to land at an airport in Bulgaria.
The plane circled the airport for an hour, before the pilot made the decision to land using analog charts.
– There was obviously influence, says one of the sources to the major newspaper.
Neither the Kremlin nor the European Commission have commented on the incident.
