FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Authorities in Duisburg closed 15 schools on Monday after receiving threatening messages containing far-right extremist content.
The closures affect nearly 18,000 students, who will be homeschooled for the day.
The first threat was sent on Friday to Gesamtschule Duisburg-Mitte, according to police, and included a right-wing extremist message.
A second threat, received on Sunday, expanded to include other schools in the city.
While police have expressed doubts about the credibility of the threats, officials decided to close the schools as a precautionary measure.
Investigations into the sender’s identity are ongoing.
