For the first time in 15 years, an inmate in an American prison is set to be executed by firing squad on Friday.
This will take place in South Carolina, where the inmate was found guilty in 2002 of killing his ex-girlfriend’s parents with a baseball bat.
According to reports from AP and NPR, the inmate’s head will be covered with a hood before a target is placed over his heart.
Three prison officers will then shoot at the man from a distance of about 4.5 meters.
