FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Strong winds have caused significant damage to the electricity network in various areas and communities across Cyprus, leaving many without power.
The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) has mobilized crews to repair and restore the electricity supply.
The situation remains challenging, but the EAC is working to address the outages and bring power back to affected areas.
Strong winds reaching up to 7 Beauforts caused damage in Limassol. This morning, a tree was uprooted and fell on a car, damaging the rear of the vehicle, as reported by SigmaLive.
Strong winds have hit the south and north coasts, while dust from Jordan and Saudi Arabia is affecting the atmosphere.
This evening, skies will clear up, but dust will remain.
North to northeast winds will be weak to moderate inland, and moderate to strong along the coasts.
The sea will be rough in some areas. Temperatures will drop to around 9°C inland, 14°C on the west coast, 12°C on other coasts, and 4°C in the higher mountains.
The dust levels are expected to start subsiding tomorrow.
