Greece: Two Arrested in Piraeus Drug Raids, Cocaine and Ecstasy Seized

PIRAEUS — Authorities arrested two Greek nationals, aged 23 and 31, in separate operations Wednesday afternoon for violations of Greece’s narcotics law.

The arrests were carried out by officers from the Central Port Authority of Piraeus.

In the first case, during routine inspections at the main passenger terminal and with the assistance of a police dog, the 23-year-old was found aboard a passenger-vehicle ferry carrying a suitcase containing 102 grams of cocaine, 50 ecstasy tablets, and 768 grams of cannabis.

The estimated street value of the drugs is approximately €25,000.

Further details on the second arrest have not yet been released. Investigations are ongoing.
