Greenland’s Prime Minister Calls for Emergency Meeting After Trump’s Statement

FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – When Donald Trump was asked about his “vision for the potential annexation of Greenland,” he responded, “Well, I think it could happen.”

In light of Trump’s latest statements, Greenland’s Prime Minister, Múte B. Egede, has asked the civil service to summon the party leaders as soon as possible.

“Because this time we must sharpen our rejection of Trump. We should not continue to be treated disrespectfully. Enough is enough,” he wrote on Facebook Thursday evening.

The Greenland-Trump saga began in 2019 when President Donald Trump expressed interest in purchasing Greenland from Denmark, which was met with firm rejection.

Despite the backlash, Trump continued to express his desire to acquire Greenland, citing its strategic location and natural resources.

Greenland’s Prime Minister, Múte B. Egede, has been vocal in rejecting Trump’s claims, emphasizing that Greenland is not for sale and that its people do not want to become part of the United States.
