The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has ruled that Israel must allow humanitarian aid to reach civilians in Gaza, including assistance from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
The ruling also emphasized that Israel cannot use starvation as a method of warfare against Hamas.
The court noted that Israel has not provided sufficient evidence to support claims that a significant portion of UNRWA staff are affiliated with Hamas.
Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations called the court’s statements “shameful” and said he expects the ICJ to stop blaming Israel and instead focus on Hamas.
