Neither Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian nor Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will attend Monday’s Gaza summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
According to Iran’s state news agency IRNA, Egypt extended the invitation late Sunday.
Foreign Minister Araghchi confirmed on X that he would not participate, stating: “Neither President Pezeshkian nor I can meet with counterparts who have attacked the Iranian people and continue to threaten and impose sanctions against us,” referring to the United States.
