Families of victims and hostages gathered Tuesday morning at the site of the Nova music festival in southern Israel, now a memorial, to mark two years since the deadly Hamas attack on October 7, 2023.
The subdued ceremony honored those killed and abducted during the assault, which triggered a war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza that continues to this day.
Indirect negotiations between the two sides resumed Monday, centered around a plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump to end the conflict. Talks were ongoing Tuesday, though no breakthrough has been reported.
