At least 11 Palestinians were killed Saturday in an Israeli airstrike targeting a bakery in western Gaza City, according to local health officials.

The attack occurred in the Ansar neighborhood, where witnesses said civilians had lined up to buy bread.

Dozens more were reported injured in the strike, which came amid intensified Israeli military operations across the city.

Gaza’s health ministry, controlled by Hamas, said 66 people were killed and 345 wounded in Israeli attacks over the past 24 hours.

On Friday, Israel declared all of Gaza City a combat zone and halted humanitarian aid deliveries to the area, where nearly 1 million people remain, according to the United Nations.

The Israeli military said it will continue escalating operations until all hostages held in Gaza are released and Hamas is dismantled both “militarily and politically.”

Since the war began in October 2023, Gaza health authorities report 63,371 Palestinians have been killed. The figure does not include thousands believed to be buried under rubble from destroyed buildings.
