The Jordanian Armed Forces dispatched a convoy of food aid to Yemen on Tuesday as tensions escalated in the country’s south.
The shipment included 13 trucks carrying 54,600 food parcels intended to meet urgent needs and provide relief to Yemeni citizens, the military said in a statement.
Officials emphasized that the aid reflected Jordan’s commitment to supporting regional neighbors during crises and promoting Arab solidarity.
The move came as Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council head Rashad Al‑Alimi warned Monday that recent military activity by the Southern Transitional Council in the south challenged the authority of the internationally recognized government.
