FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Britain’s King Charles III and Queen Camilla met Italian President Sergio Mattarella on Tuesday, following their arrival for a four-day state visit.
Talks were held with President Mattarella and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, according to the president’s office.
This marks King Charles’ first trip abroad since being briefly hospitalized in late March due to cancer treatment side effects.
The royal itinerary includes a stop in Ravenna on April 10 to commemorate the Allies’ 80th anniversary of the province’s liberation during World War II.
King Charles is also set to deliver the first-ever speech by a British monarch to Italy’s parliament on Wednesday.
