Kuwait’s army said Thursday its air‑defense systems intercepted “hostile” missile and drone attacks earlier in the morning.
In a statement on X, the military said loud explosions heard in several areas were the result of the interceptions. It urged the public to follow safety instructions issued by authorities.
Air‑raid sirens sounded across the country at 5:22 a.m. local time, the first such alert heard in Kuwait in years.
