Letter: Smoking and parking at Larnaca airport in Cyprus lets the show down

ByFamagusta Gazette

Sir,

I am writing to express my concern regarding the smoking area located at the main entrance of Larnaca International Airport.

As a frequent traveler, I have noticed that the current smoking area arrangement requires non-smoking passengers to walk through a cloud of smoke to access the terminal (at both entrances).

Surely in 2025, a company like Hermes might have noticed this is beyond acceptable?

This is particularly problematic for individuals with respiratory conditions, allergies, or general discomfort around cigarette smoke.

Additionally, it creates an unpleasant first impression of your otherwise satisfactory facility.

Furthermore, I have observed that the drop-off parking area is often chaotic, causing significant delays and confusion for passengers trying to enter the airport (I won’t mention the actual parking).

This issue not only contributes to unnecessary stress but also poses potential safety hazards.

I kindly request that the airport management consider relocating the smoking area to a more secluded spot, away from the main entrance. Additionally, I urge you to review and improve the drop-off parking area to ensure a smoother and more organized experience for all passengers.

Yours faithfully,

K. Behham
