FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – The Marella Discovery II has become a symbol of revival for Cyprus’ cruise industry, heralding the start of the 2025 season with its arrival at Limassol port on Wednesday.
Notably, this is Cyprus’ first full-fledged ‘Fly and Cruise’ operation since the Covid-19 pandemic, underscoring a major milestone for the island’s tourism sector.
The ship will call Limassol its home port throughout the season, an arrangement DP World Limassol proudly announced as a reaffirmation of Cyprus’ prominence in the Eastern Mediterranean cruise circuit.
Operated by Marella Cruises, the 11-deck liner features 918 cabins and an array of leisure facilities, including an outdoor cinema, a rock-climbing wall, and a mini golf course.
Between April and November, the Marella Discovery II is scheduled for 26 voyages, marking a significant boost for the local economy and tourism.
