DOHA, Qatar — Egypt, Qatar and Turkey are pressing Hamas to accept a U.S.-backed peace plan for Gaza, according to sources cited by Axios.
The initiative, proposed by President Donald Trump, remains in its early stages and requires further development and clarification, Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani told Al Jazeera.
“There is a need to refine and explain the plan more thoroughly,” Al Thani said, emphasizing that key details — particularly the mechanism for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the war-torn Palestinian territory — still need to be addressed through additional negotiations.
