Morocco’s weather authority says that several provinces will face snow and heavy rains this weekend, with conditions expected to last through Sunday.
Snowfall is forecast at altitudes above 1,400 meters. Midelt, Ouarzazate and Tinghir could see 30 to 50 centimeters of snow beginning Friday midday through early Saturday, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology, which issued an “orange” alert.
Ifrane, Boulemane, Khenifra, Azilal, Al Haouz and Taroudant are also expected to receive 10 to 30 centimeters of snow during the same period.
Stormy rains of 20 to 30 millimeters are forecast Friday afternoon in Tiznit, Tan‑Tan, Guelmim, Sidi Ifni and Tarfaya.
