Albania Posts 658M Euro Surplus as Travel Revenues Surge

Albania’s central bank says the country recorded a current account surplus of 658 million euros in the third quarter, nearly double the level a year earlier.

The Bank of Albania said the surplus was driven by a sharp rise in tourism revenues, which reached 2.3 billion euros in July‑September, up 21.6 percent year on year. Net tourism income hit a record 1.3 billion euros.

For the first nine months of 2025, the balance of payments showed a surplus of 51 million euros, reversing a 233 million euro deficit in the same period last year.

The services sector also contributed, posting a net balance of 1.9 billion euros in the third quarter, a 26.7 percent increase.
