Cyprus will come to a standstill Thursday as a nationwide strike halts operations across the country from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Schools, airports, hospitals, public transport, and road networks will be affected.
Parents must collect children from school by 11 a.m., as no return transport will be provided. Those wishing to send children to all-day schools must drop them off at 2 p.m. and collect them after classes end.
More than 50 flights are expected to be disrupted, affecting over 15,000 passengers. Airlines are already rescheduling.
Hospitals and outpatient clinics will suspend services during the strike. Scheduled appointments and surgeries within the three-hour window will be postponed. Emergency staff will remain on duty.
Public transport and Citizens’ Service Centers will also shut down during the strike.
Police will be on alert due to expected congestion near protest sites.
