Health Minister Michalis Damianos has acknowledged ongoing shortages in nursing staff.
He said the ministry’s campaign to attract nursing students is beginning to show results, with enrollment doubling over the past two years.
During that time, 320 new nurses have registered, including more than 100 from Greece.
Damianos added that by the end of the year, legislation will be amended to remove the requirement for postgraduate degrees for graduates from third countries who wish to remain and work in Cyprus.
