FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – The 20 most active juvenile offenders in Oslo have been linked to 1,298 police cases, including attempted murder, violence, robbery, drug offenses, and threats, according to an investigation by Norway Television channel TV2.
All 20 individuals are male, with some suspected, charged, or convicted in the nearly 1,300 criminal cases.
The report, based on police data from January, found that TV 2 has identified twelve of the youths, while the remaining eight have yet to be convicted.
“These boys come from families with a minority background, across the Oslo Police District, and from homes with low socio-economic status,” said Jane Bechmann Dahl, head of the prevention unit in the Oslo Police District, in comments to TV 2.
Police and social services continue to monitor the situation as authorities work to address youth crime and its underlying causes.
