The Norwegian Refugee Council has announced that, for the first time in its history, it will suspend ongoing and urgent relief work for hundreds of thousands of people in almost 20 countries affected by war, disasters and displacement.
These drastic measures, it said, came as a result of the US having stopped, partially stopped or not refunded funding for their global emergency aid programs.
