FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett revealed that over 50 countries have reached out to the White House, seeking to initiate trade negotiations with the United States following the imposition of tariffs.
In an interview with ABC, Hassett dismissed claims that the tariffs were a tactic to pressure the Federal Reserve into lowering interest rates, emphasizing that there was no political coercion involved.
Meanwhile, U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, speaking to CBS, confirmed that the tariffs would remain in place for “days and weeks,” underscoring the administration’s firm stance on the matter.
