FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – The Palestinian Embassy in Cyprus has launched a hunger strike in protest against the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and escalating tensions in the West Bank, calling the action an expression of solidarity with Palestinians facing severe hardship.
According to the Embassy, the demonstration comes at a critical moment as Gaza endures “famine, complete blockade and daily attacks,” while settler violence and land seizures continue to intensify in the occupied West Bank.
“I know that Palestine will not be liberated by this act,” said Palestinian Ambassador Abdullah Attari. “But at least we maintain our humanity. We should not become accustomed to starvation—it is inhumane.”
