FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Police in Cyprus are continuing an extensive manhunt using helicopters and drones to locate the suspect behind an attempted murder targeting a 47-year-old businessman early Thursday in the Larnaca district.
According to Larnaca CID chief Giorgos Charalambous, the assailant fired more than 10 shots at the victim while he was cycling along a secondary road. The businessman escaped unharmed and fled the scene on his bicycle.
The suspect, who was riding a motorcycle, abandoned the vehicle at the scene and fled on foot through nearby fields. Authorities believe the motorcycle was stolen.
The crime scene has been cordoned off, with forensic teams, special police units, and the Department of Technological Development conducting investigations.
The victim provided an initial description of the suspect, stating he was wearing a helmet during the attack.
