The pope has been hospitalized with double pneumonia for just under two weeks.
On Sunday, a statement indicated that blood tests taken from the pope showed early signs of kidney failure.
However, the Vatican assured that there is no cause for concern.
The statement also mentioned that Pope Francis was able to work a little during the afternoon on Monday.
