NICOSIA, Cyprus — Demonstrators gathered Sunday afternoon outside the British High Commission in Nicosia to protest against Israel and the presence of British military bases on the island.
The protest, titled “Global Rally Against this Supply Chain of Death,” was organized by United for Palestine, AFOA, BDS, and the Cyprus Peace Council.
Marchers proceeded peacefully toward the British High Commission.
Authorities confirmed that officers were present for the duration of the event. Protesters carried Palestinian flags and placards denouncing military involvement in the region.
