The Turkish Cypriot Meteorology Department has announced that temperatures in northern Cyprus will drop to 8 degrees Celsius, with snow expected on Saturday and Sunday.

According to the weekly weather forecast report covering February 20-26, the region will generally be under the influence of a low-pressure system and a very cold, humid air mass.

Light showers are expected tomorrow morning, followed by frost in some areas on Friday morning. Over the weekend, sleet or snow is anticipated, particularly at higher elevations.

The highest temperatures will range from 13-16 degrees in the inland areas and coasts at the beginning and end of the period, and around 8-11 degrees on the other days. The wind will generally blow from the north, with strong and occasionally stormy gusts.

Residents are advised to prepare for the upcoming cold weather and exercise caution when traveling, especially in areas prone to snow and ice.
