Russia has wanted to establish a naval base in the Red Sea for several years. Now Sudan has given the green light for Russia to build a naval base in Port Sudan, the country’s main port, AFP reports.
Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali Youssef visited Moscow on Wednesday.
‘We are in complete agreement on this matter, and there are no obstacles at all,’ Youssef said at a press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
