Seventeen people, including 11 children, were injured on Saturday in a fire that broke out in a two-story house in the northeastern city of Tiberias, according to Israel’s Magen David Adom (MDA) rescue service.
The Tzafon Medical Center near Tiberias, which received the injured, reported that five people, including three children, were in moderate condition, while the rest were in mild condition.
Video footage posted on the Israeli news website Ynet showed two people jumping from a second-floor window of the house. The MDA identified them as a 40-year-old woman and a 12-year-old girl, both of whom sustained moderate injuries from the jump.
Israel’s National Fire and Rescue Authority stated that the first floor of the building was completely burned, and the trapped individuals were rescued from the second floor.
