On the first trading day after Donald Trump introduced his much-discussed tariffs, stock markets in Asia are in some cases falling sharply.
In Hong Kong, the HSI index fell 1.9 percent. In Japan, the Nikkei index fell 2.4 percent. In Sydney, the ASX 200 index fell 1.7 percent.
US President Donald Trump signed the announced order on Saturday, which includes a 25 percent tariff on goods from Mexico and Canada and a 10 percent tariff on goods from China. The tariffs will take effect on Tuesday.
