A seasonal low-pressure system is affecting the region, bringing mostly clear skies and fluctuating winds across Cyprus.
On Sunday, conditions will remain mostly sunny. Winds will shift from southwesterly to northwesterly, starting light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, increasing later to moderate to strong at 4 to 5 Beaufort, and reaching very strong levels of 5 to 6 Beaufort in southwestern areas. Seas will be slightly rough, becoming locally rough by afternoon.
Temperatures are expected to reach 37°C inland, 31°C along the western coast, around 34°C on other coastal areas, and 29°C in the higher mountains.
Tonight, skies will stay mostly clear, though patchy fog and low cloud cover may develop in some areas. Winds will remain light to moderate from the southwest to northwest at 3 to 4 Beaufort. Seas will be slightly rough, with rougher conditions expected in western and northern coastal zones. Overnight temperatures will fall to around 22°C inland and along the coast, and 18°C in mountainous regions.
Forecasts for Monday through Wednesday predict continued clear skies. Temperatures will rise slightly on Monday, exceeding seasonal averages, dip slightly on Tuesday, and remain steady on Wednesday, staying just above climatological norms.
