FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Moises Sandoval Mendoza, 41, was executed by lethal injection Wednesday night for the 2004 murder of Rachelle O’Neil Tolleson, a 20-year-old mother.
Tolleson was abducted from her home in Farmersville, Texas, in March 2004. Her six-month-old daughter was found unharmed the next day. Tolleson’s body was discovered near a creek six days later, with evidence showing she had been sexually assaulted, strangled, and stabbed. Mendoza also burned her body in an attempt to destroy evidence.
Mendoza was arrested after confessing the crime to a friend. His execution marks the third in Texas this year and the 13th in the United States.
