FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – TikTok announced the launch of an interactive e-commerce platform in Italy, France, and Germany on March 31, marking its first foray into online shopping in Europe.
The platform will allow users to purchase products from local brands and distributors directly through the app.
Featuring “shoppable videos” and “live videos,” the initiative aims to provide a personalized shopping experience by fostering closer interactions between sellers and consumers.
TikTok, which has 22.8 million users in Italy, highlighted the platform’s potential to recreate the engagement of traditional commerce within its app.
This launch follows the company’s success in e-commerce markets outside of Europe and leverages the combined economic influence of the three largest EU economies.
